Eliane Correa & La Evolución Orchestra; Ronnie Scotts, Soho; 8th January 2026; £40 – £55
Eliane Correa & La Evolución is a fresh, high-energy 12-piece Cuban timba fusion orchestra consisting of some of the UK’s top Cuban and Latin musicians. Bandleader Eliane Correa, a renowned Latina pianist and composer, is a key figure in the representation of Cuban music and culture in the UK.
Alongside curating the London Latin Jazz Fest for nearly a decade, Eliane has worked with prominent musicians like Mayito Rivera and Maite Hontelé, and toured extensively with Hans Zimmer. Her orchestra, La Evolución, fronted by respected Cuban vocalists Dunia Correa and Yadira Ferrer, has gained popularity following successful appearances at Glastonbury and the release of their acclaimed debut album, Signo de Fuego.
The orchestra’s unique sound combines modern timba elements with contemporary jazz, often nodding to soul, reggae and modern jazz influences. As a female-led, mixed-gender, majority Cuban orchestra, La Evolución highlights the female experience in Latin music through empowering lyrics, aiming to change the gender narrative in the genre.
