I always wondered why there are so many lunatics in the park

Why does a holiday seem so long ago within two weeks of returning to humdrum working life? I was feeling a touch of the post-holiday blues once the jet lag and my tan started to fade. What’s more, I realised I only have five days left to take off work until 2015!

Natasha, who has also recently returned from an exotic location, empathised. Between us, we figured out some tips to beat the blues:

  1. Assess the credit card damage. I still don’t keep money aside for emergencies so perhaps those five days holiday that I have left are a blessing.
  2. Take up yoga. We all know it’s good for flexibility, strength and stress, but apparently it also makes for a more satisfying time in the sack. Hot Danish has agreed to join a session with me…
  3. Relive the memory. I would suggest stopping at turning up Samba Rock or Afro Cuban Beats on your Spotify; my Balinese dish tasted more Indian than Indonesian and the recent picnic in the park gave me a cold.
  4. Make plans. Show off that tan before it fades and throw a cocktail party. That, followed by an all-day hangover, should bring back fond memories of drinking mojitos in the sun…
  5. Get back to nature. A walk in the park promotes wellbeing, according to mental health charity Mind. I always wondered why there are so many lunatics in the park…
