Obikà Launch Dinner

Acclaimed Italian mozzarella restaurant Obikà flung open its doors on Monday night for a pre-launch tasting menu. Obikà is already well-established in Italy, New York, Los Angeles and Tokyo. This low-lit, glass-walled South Kensington hot spot is sure to be just as popular.

We feasted on a tasting menu of gazpacho, sea bass truffle tartare, prosciutto, grilled artichokes from Gragnano, Sicilian aubergine, Devon fillet steak, chocolate and almond cake, buffalo cream with honey, orange and pine nuts, and of course lots and lots of mozzarella; smoked mozzerella, stringy mozzarella, creamy mozzarella. Obikà celebrates the exquisite flavour and variety of authentic and artisanal Mozzarella di Bufala, sourced and imported fresh from Italy three times a week. We kicked off with lemon sorbet prosecco, and wines were matched expertly to every course.
