'Eyebrows should follow their own natural shape – not a forced one'

Richard Ward Hair and Metrospa Eyebrow Sculpting

The Blurb:

The Richard Ward Hair and Metrospa is a two-storey, five-zone maze located in Duke’s Square, just off Sloane Square, King’s Road. There are 80 members of staff who tend to over 1000 clients a week. Richard Ward has always been well connected with the A-list and royalty crowd – most notably the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton as well as her sister Pippa and her mother, Carol Middleton.

I visited Marina de Almeida, the new brow sculpting specialist, to experience an eyebrow-grooming fit for a princess.

The Process:

I was nervous. I’d been growing my brows for a long time, tweezing and shaping as little as possible, in a bid to bring back their youth.

Marina’s presence was instantly calming. With a reassuring manner she slowly described what my current shape needed and what she could do.

‘Eyebrows should follow their own natural shape – not a forced one,’ said Marina. She encouraged me to grow them to their full length to enhance the natural contours of my face, which I have to say, has really worked – this seems to bring out the brow-line and somehow compliment the cheek bones. She also advised to grow back the upper edge of hairs to help brows look fuller too.

Having sensed my concerns of whipping too much off (it’s why I’ve kept away from threading for so long) she avoided a pointy, polished shape and kept the natural hairs that lend a youthful look. Rest assured you won’t experience any disappearing brows here.

The Result:

‘Your eyebrows look great – have you been growing them? They look thicker,’ my friends said when they next saw me.

The Details:

Eyebrow shaping is £25.
