Nuriss Mole Mapping with Dr Anita Sturnham

Nuriss Mole Mapping with Dr Anita Sturnham

NURISS offers the most advanced Automated Total Body Photography and Dermoscopy system to help screen for skin cancer and keep your skin safe.

FotoFinder Bodystudio ATBM is a comprehensive mole mapping service that harnesses the most technologically advanced skin cancer screening system for total body mapping. The Bodystudio system analyses and photographs every mole on the body in a matter of minutes and identifies moles which are atypical and need further monitoring or removal. The computer and camera are in permanent connection offering optimised imaging, where the software takes control of the entire imaging process. Captured images are displayed immediately on-screen and directly stored in the patient database. The camera automatically moves up and down the stand for fast and consistent body photography.

All Dermoscopy images are taken with FotoFinder Medicam 800HD. The on-screen gallery displays the mole map and all corresponding micro images. This high quality imaging allows NURISS to analyse the moles on the body in great detail, looking for abnormal pigmentation and features that may suggest cancer. The images are stored in confidential patient notes and allow Dr Anita to easily compare baseline and follow-up mole images, side-by-side.

If any atypical or concerning moles are discovered, NURISS will help arrange for these to be removed using their leading UK Skin Cancer Specialist Dr Russell Morris-Jones.

Moles are common and most of us have them. But just as we all look different, so can our moles and some of us have more than others.  This can be due to our genetic makeup or due to our history of sun exposure.

What are Moles?

Moles are a collection of cells in the skin and can be brown, skin-coloured, flat, raised, hairy, all depending on the type of mole it is.

They tend to slowly change in appearance as the skin ages and you may notice over the years that they change in size, shape and colour.

These slow changes are a normal part of a mole’s lifecycle. However, if a mole suddenly changes in its appearance or starts to itch, crust or bleed, then this could be a sign of skin cancer and you should go to see a doctor and have this checked.

Catch them before cancer does…

However, rather than getting to this frightening stage, it is highly advisable to have an annual mole mapping appointment which will track any changes for you. This small annual investment offers peace of mind and can help ensure your skin safety. And NEVER forget your SPF of course!
