Cut and Blow-Dry at SALON64

The Blurb

SALON64 is a Soho salon that utilises genius interior design to turn into an exclusive members club and bar in the evenings! Think sleek indoor fire pits and marble (although of course the drinks part is on hold until May 17). Having a signature cocktail poured for you at the salon’s bar whilst Ricky works his magic on your locks is one of the finest ways to pass an afternoon!

The opulent interior features oversized herringbone floors, a regal blue colour scheme combines with pops of royal raspberry, styled concrete against opulent marble and golden detailing with a modern take on the roman numerals 64. The SALON64 theme is reflected throughout the space in tapestry and prints.

The Process

Ricky Walters opened Salon 64 in 2017 and I was lucky enough to be in his expert hands. Having not had a trim since December, I imagined he’d need to hack inches off, but he painstakingly removed all the split ends from my waist-length hair and preserved the length so brilliantly you couldn’t even tell it’d been cut. Except for the fact it now looks healthy, thick, and all one length. The shorter strands around my face had snapped into makeshift ‘layers’, which he managed to clean up and blend in perfectly.

To finish it off, Ricky gives the best blow-dries in Soho. I left with sleek, bouncy, voluminous waves, which saw me through all the way to the weekend.

The Results

My hair looks groomed and healthier, feels strong and cared for, and I don’t even notice it’s shorter. All in all, top marks!
