Savana Spa

CACI Facial at Savana Urban Spa

The Blurb:

Savana Urban Spa is located right bang in the middle of two very different neighbourhoods; the ultra posh-trendy Westbourne Grove and the multicultural vibe of Bayswater. However, leaving behind the urban to enter the Savana rabbit-warren-esque spa, felt like an Alice in Wonderland experience, particularly as I was greeted by the new and rather enthusiastic owner. Although this treatment has been around for a good few years, as a face lift virgin I felt like a guinea pig heading for the science lab. The time had come for my CACI non-surgical face lift.

The Process:

CACI is an electronic beauty treatment which stimulates the muscles in your face. By sending tiny electrical impulses into your skin, the machine can give your face a full-on workout. I had asked my therapist to talk me through each stage, as I could see no point trying to relax with the non-stop ‘electric shocks’. After my skin had been cleansed and exfoliated, using the less than harsh microdermabrasion technology, she used the two hand-held probes to remind my facial muscles where they used to sit in days of old.

I would not say that the process is uncomfortable but it is curious and then curiouser, again bringing out the Alice in me. To be prodded and electrocuted can not really be compared with the experience of a pampering facial, but it would be a lie to say that I did not enjoy lying on a warm bed on such a cold day.

The Result:

There was no doubt that my face had had its very own little workout, without me having to lift a finger. Cross referring to the nearest mirror, I checked out my fresh-faced skin and noticed that many of the wrinkles around my eyes had magically disappeared. I would never be one for the scalpel, but I could easily be persuaded to take a course of this non-invasive magic treatment.

From £99 for 90-minute facial.
