The beloved and esteemed Leiths cookery school is returning to its Portobello roots with a brand new pop-up kitchen.

Leiths first opened in the Notting Hill area 38 years ago. The main school in W12 trains future gourmet chefs, but little sister Leiths Portobello is ideal for the keen cook or hostess. The school is fully equipped to teach a brand new range of courses. Matching the foodie and globetrotting residents of London’s most colourful area, the programme kicks off with The Global Gourmet, an exclusive culinary tour taught in intimate groups by Leiths experts.

Leiths Portobello have pulled out all the stops to create the ultimate culinary experience as you travel across continents to create show-stopping dishes. Aimed at enthusiastic cooks who love entertaining and already have some experience cooking at home, this exciting and inspiring evening course will teach authentic recipes and techniques from the culinary hotspots of the world. With three five-part evening courses to choose from, sign up for one of the courses or complete all three to achieve the full 3 stars to become a Leiths certified global gourmet. From the exotic flavours of Southern and Central Asia to the heady scents and spices of North Africa and the Middle East, cross continents to sample the cures and preserves of Northern Europe, and travel south to enjoy zingy Latin flavours. By the end of the course you will be a global aficionado.

Or, for those more concerned with the science of nutrition, Leiths are offering a one-day Cook Yourself Young course to bring in the New Year with a new you. Develop the nutritional acumen and culinary skills to boost your health, looks and wellbeing with naturopath, food and health expert Elizabeth Peyton-Jones. Clients including Hollywood actress Thandie Newton, have benefited from Elizabeth’s guidance in making dietary and lifestyle changes that rejuvenate their health, looks and wellbeing.

Alternatively, take your culinary prowess to the next level with The Complete Cook. This five part course, which takes place one day per week, will give you the skills to be successful in the kitchen as you learn to slice and dice like a pro; perfect meat, fish and shellfish preparation and cooking; turn out delicious cakes and bakes, and finish of any meal with a delectable dessert. Taught in groups of no more than 10, there will be plenty of guidance from Leiths experts. By the end of the course students will have an inspiring new repertoire and the confidence to tackle any recipe.
