Fifth Floor Bar Harvey Nichols London Fashion Week Cocktails

In the spirit of London Fashion Week February ‘14, Harvey Nichols Fifth Floor Bar has created eight wonderful cocktails inspired by the flavors of the world’s most stylish cities. The cocktails are named after famous shopping streets from around the world for some seriously stylish sipping.

The super chic Fifth Floor Bar is yet another reason to visit the ever-fabulous Harvey Nichols. The lime green, cream and pink modern interior has a laidback relaxed feel whilst still being a sophisticated and exclusive environment perfect for after work drinks. The central circular bar presents a fantastic casual setting to socialize with friends or meet new interesting city characters!

The impeccably dressed and dotingly attentive staff are extremely talented in the art of mixology and over the last few months have perfected this exquisite selection of Fashion Week cocktails.

Given the city we are in, I felt obliged to start with the London cocktail – Sloane Street

…And never have I tasted such an elegant drink! This slick city drink is brilliantly British, a gorgeous blend of Rhubarb vodka, honey water, fresh lemon juice, a splash of Peychaurd bitters and laced with Perrier-Jouet Grand Brut NV.

It’s fresh, fun and beautifully garnished with a simple petal in a champagne flute.

The World-renowned luxury-shopping street Via Montenapoleone in Milan was the inspiration for the next cocktail. ‘Via Montenapoleone’ is a zesty combination of Aperol, Chambord, spiced rum, orange juice and raspberries to kick start your evening in true Italian style. Marvelously refreshing and flavorsome, the Aperol isn’t too overpowering and you get a burst of fruit that reaches all of your senses!

“Sweet, seductive and just a little bit naughty”. The perfect explanation for the Fifth Avenue, New York cocktail. Crème de Peche, carefully mixed with adsinthe, vanilla liquor, lavender essence, charged with Perrier-Jouer Grande Brut NV is stunningly garnished with a twist of lemon and a lavender stem and presented in a floral print glass that seems to match the bar’s ceiling print.

Rich in flavor without any one taste being too overpowering, this delicate drink get’s top marks for aesthetics.

The eight Fashion Week inspired cocktails are available throughout February. Keep an eye out as the professionals here are always on the lookout for opportunities to create outstanding new cocktails for different events happening in London throughout the year. With Wimbledon and the World Cup not too far off, there is a lot to look forward to!
