Where to brunch in Monaco

There is no better way to enjoy the weekend than by waking up late and heading to a restaurant for a leisurely brunch. Monaco offers plenty of options, in settings that range from sophisticated to Italian retro.

Cipriani

For a sophisticated brunch setting, book a table at the mahogany-walled, nautical-themed Cipriani on Monaco’s prestigious Avenue Princesse Grace. Although the restaurant’s Sunday brunch time is very family-friendly, with a kids’ menu and an arts and crafts area, Cipriani is a favourite haunt for socialites and you can also expect to bump into a famous footballer or two. The menu spans delicious pasta dishes, breaded veal, osso bucco, salads, asparagus and mouth-watering desserts, including lemon meringue pie.
And, of course, you can’t leave the restaurant without trying its signature bellini, the Prosecco and white-peach cocktail invented by Harry Cipriani in Venice in 1948.

Beefbar

The Beefbar faces Monaco’s second harbour in Fontvieille and, as its name suggests, specialises in top quality meat. The brunch menu is a recent addition to its offering and is divided into “sweet”, “savoury”, “street food” and “Our Great Brunch”.
The sweet options include homemade churros with chocolate and cinnamon sauce, while the savoury section invites guests to try meaty delights such as “Le Croque” – ribeye ham, comté cheese and truffles.

Among the so-called street food you’ll find smoked beef cured for 40 days and a poke bowl of rice, avocado, radish, almonds and egg, served with a sesame dressing. Fans of Eggs Benedict will find three versions, including the Todos Locos – poached eggs and crispy tacos with chimichurri hollandaise sauce.

For those who want to tuck into what the Beefbar is most famous for, there’s a selection of cuts of prime Angus beef and a choice of side dishes that includes homemade potato cream with jalapeno pepper or fresh black truffles.
