On the List

The Hottest Interior Design Trends in London

London has long been established as a world leader when it comes to interior design, and west London has some of the city’s most glorious homes. With our original, eclectic and experimental approach, we have some of the finest designers, architecture and style.

Increation Bathroom

Pantone predicts warm, rich purples as hot colours for 2014’s palette, and these shades are already making an impact in some of London’s most exquisite houses. An Old Street home renovated by luxury bespoke interiors company Increation combines colour with stunning curved features to create a stylish, contemporary, and most importantly, inviting home. 2013’s love affair with Emerald is still going strong and it’s easy to incorporate a dash of this ‘wow’ colour in home accessories. Look for green accents in the 50s inspired retro-botanical print trend, which will be adorning all the most fashionable walls, chairs and cushions this spring. As ever, florals inject colour into design schemes, but this summer prints are going digital. Suzanne Goodwin has a stunning collection of cushions for SS13 with designs from tropical leaves to lilies and violets. (From £75, SuzanneGoodwin.com)

Kitchen

For the typography afficianado, the hub of imported Scandinavian design Skandivis has just become the first UK stockist of posters made by Playtype, a Danish company specialising in typeface design. Available in a variety of styles and fonts, their collection of posters are undeniably cool, adding a bold, graphic edge to any room. Combine several different designs for a clashing yet cohesive statement. (£32, Skandivis.com).

Right now, gold and silver are out, and brass and copper are in. Pair metallics with earthy hues, marble, and dark wood to create a classically luxe interior with a masculine edge. Look to Tom Dixon’s Eclectic collection for on-trend accessories, we love his scented candles (from £55, TomDixon.net). For a modern twist, his copper and brass lighting fixtures reinvent retro staples like the hanging spherical pendant light. (From £195).
