Easter Gift Guide 2018

Easter centrepiece floral masterclass at Front Row—£50

Learn how to make the perfect floral centrepiece for Easter lunch at Front Row, Notting Hill’s fabulous, fashion-led new florist. A fun and genuinely informative evening that guides you, step by step, through the process, from soaking your oasis (not a euphemism) to stuffing all your holes with greenery (ditto).

Delicious canapes are served throughout and the prosecco flows freely. The centrepiece you’ve created is yours to keep—a bonus if you’ve over-indulged in the complimentary bubbles and haven’t a clue how to apply what you’ve learned afterwards.

The Goring

Easter egg hunt and lunch at The Goring—£25 for the hunt, £80 for three courses and a glass of champagne

If you can’t be arsed to cook on Easter Sunday, why not head to elegant Belgravia hotel The Goring for its annual Easter Egg Hunt, followed by lunch? An Easter bunny will be hopping around the beautiful gardens greeting the children as they search for chocolate treasure. Start the day as you mean to go on with Buck’s Fizz served from 11 (hot chocolate for the kids—because they really need more chocolate, today of all days) and traditional hot cross buns for all.

At lunch, served in the dining room, starters include Violet artichoke salad with confit egg yolk, Katherine goat’s cheese and smoked mayonnaise, followed by yummy-sounding mains Marsh lamb with smoked aubergine, yoghurt, lamb sweetbreads, spiced pine nut and carrot, and Scottish halibut with sautéed shellfish and fennel potatoes in a Cornish seafood bisque. To finish, a selection of puddings and British cheeses will be served from the silver trolley.

The three-course meal comes with a glass of champagne but you’ll no doubt want to supplement that with wine from the dining room’s extensive list, if only to cope with the inevitable insufferable behaviour as the children’s sugar rush kicks in.

HOtel Chocolat

Eggsellency Alcohol Easter Egg—£27

Alcohol and chocolate, what’s not to love? A thoroughly grown up Easter egg, and great for sharing with your other half if one of you prefers milk chocolate, the other dark (though your compatibility might be in need of serious reconsideration).

The egg is filled with boozy chocolates (champagne truffle, gin truffle, mojito, champagne cocktail, rum truffle, red wine, whisky truffle and espresso martini), which should render you nicely bloated and nauseous as you contemplate the slow demise of your relationship.

ICONIC London cosmetics—from £20

What better way to celebrate Christ’s resurrection than by shelling out on lots of lovely new make-up? It makes sense if you think about it—a glorious new you to coincide with the rebirth of spring and second coming of the Lord.

Tenuous at best? Oh well. WLL is particularly partial to the Day to Slay eyeshadow palette (£45), a collection of velvety soft powders that includes a mixture of mattes, shimmers and glitters for flawless day-to-night looks, and Limited Edition BOOM Lash Mascara (£20), for super long and fluttery lashes on this, the most important day of the Christian calendar.
