‘I spent £300 recently on two failed dates’

‘Perhaps we could do a little crawl, taking in some of the old haunts in Notting Hill?’ Plan B suggested. I was looking forward to a long weekend in London, staying with Monique in Kensington and catching up with friends. ‘Sounds good, but remember I’m a light-weight,’ I replied.
‘The crawl could be a low-alcohol version. I could order a glass of wine and you a glass of soda, making two spritzers.’
‘This is sounding like an unemployed version of a crawl for my benefit.’
‘But you will be coming over with Hot Danish’s credit card, right?’
‘Don’t fret,’ I replied.
‘I spent £300 recently on two failed dates,’ he added.

I forwarded him an invite for Game Art vs. Street Art, a live paint event at Graffik Gallery. ‘Yes, we could feature this in our “crawl”.’ There was also an invite to the re-launch of Westbourne Studios Club with Seb Fontaine and UV Ping Pong sensation PingTron (even after a Google search I wasn’t sure what PingTron was). ‘This crawl is getting out of hand now,’ Plan B said. GGGallery was also presenting Michael Viviani’s exhibition. ‘Is Thursday the big night in that part of town or something?’ was Plan B’s response.

That evening I told HD about Plan B’s expensive failed dates. ‘I don’t believe him,’ he said. ‘I reckon he spent £50 on drinks for two dates and £250 on hookers.’

‘You took me for dinner at Pizza East Portobello followed by drinks at The Lonsdale,’ I said.

‘That was different,’ he said. ‘I knew I wanted you.’
‘And actually I think the bar manager got us a drink or two,’ I said. ‘But you’ve had to spend a lot more relocating me to Amsterdam,’ I smiled.

I received an email from Plan B the following morning, ‘I am probably going to be wearing a suit for our pub/event crawl. Will we be going to cool places and getting wrecked and putting holes in our clothing?’
