Prettly is a website that helps you find and book beauty professionals for treatments to be enjoyed in the comfort of your own chosen location—be it your home, office, hotel room, wherever you like! Currently, Prettly offers manicure, pedicure, hair and makeup treatments. They also offer hair removal treatments (waxing and threading).
Prettly make every effort to ensure their professionals and treatments are of the highest quality, and reliably and safely delivered. They personally pre-screen and test all of the professionals that use their platform to ensure services are at the highest standard. All their professionals have also met the required certifications and industry standards for their particular specialisations. Finally, every Prettly experience is followed up by comprehensive feedback and ratings from users to ensure that quality standards are consistently met.
The process
Two smiley girls arrived at my house; one got to work on my nails, the other started pinning and twisting my hair. I hadn’t been told I’d be expected to answer the door with ready-wet-and-washed hair, but that would make sense. Luckily the hair girl arrived after the nail girl, which prompted me to ask how I’d be able to wash my hair once she’d started my nails, and gave me time to jump in the shower ready for Samantha’s arrival.
I’d requested a nail technician who carried Essie polishes, because their range is the best. But what I hadn’t known was that Essie now do gel colours—wildly exciting news. Patience, doing my nails, helped me choose a minky brown for my fingers and a lilac that popped for my toes.
Both girls chatted away to me, lulling me out of my rum-and-prosecco hangover and getting me in the spirit to face my two-hour trek to a country ball later that night. Neither job took too long and they both left me looking great.
I thought it might be awkward entertaining two strangers in my sitting room, with the previous night’s detritus still lingering in the kitchen, and the air faintly awash with the scent of empty bottles and ashtrays (my flat is usually lovely, honest), but they made me feel totally at home in my home, and not like I had to entertain or play host at all.
The results
My hair looked elegant and naturally tousled, while my gel nails are still going strong as I write this almost three weeks later. All in all, nails ten. Hair nine. One point only deducted as Samantha did such an excellent job of not attacking my hair, or pulling it straight to dry it sleek, that it didn’t look quite as sleek as it could have, had she ignored me. Actually, that’s clearly not fair. Hair also ten.
