Q&A: Expert Commentary from Tom Lawman-Butler

question Which supplements do you recommend?

answerThe only supplements that I would recommend to the majority of my clients are a low dose multivitamin, Omega 3 and Vitamin D3. Taking a low dose multivitamin will make sure they get all the essential vitamins and minerals that may be missing from their diet.

Omega 3 supplements help balance out the high levels of Omega 6 that the majority of the population consume via the food they eat. The lack of sunshine in the UK means that we don’t always produce enough of our own vitamin D, so taking a Vitamin D3 supplement to aid in calcium absorption and maintain normal bone and muscle function is recommended.

A balanced healthy diet and exercise is generally far superior to most forms of supplementation on the market. Anything in pill form promising rapid fat loss or miraculous health benefits should always be avoided. There really is no shortcut to being fit and healthy.
