Where do you live and why?
Notting Hill as it’s local to work and a lively area.
Nu Line is a bit of a Notting Hill institution. Who are your customers?
We have excellent customers – mainly architects and interior designers. We also have a few celebrities that pop in; from the very pleasant Harry Enfield and Nigel Havers, to members of my favourite band The Prodigy.
How important do you think lighting is in interior design? What’s your top tip for creating the right mood with lighting?
This is a difficult one as I’ve found that everyone has their own idea of mood lighting.
Who or what inspired you the most?
Nikola Tesla, who invented things over 100 years ago that are widely used today.
What’s hot in lighting design right now?
It has to be LED lighting.
What do you love/hate about Portobello Road?
I love Graffik Gallery, but hate that Banger Bros (burger bar) has gone.
What should people consider when choosing their lighting?
Power consumption is key these days, but also look at fitting and light output.
What do you consider your necessities in life?
The perfect home and neighbourhood for my children.
What are your aspirations for the rest of the year?
Looking forward to buying a river boat… Once I find somewhere to put it.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
That’s an easy one: buying gadgets .
